Simple Nail Design

Have you ever seen somebodies nails and wonder, how on earth did they do it? Well today I am showing you a look that you can recreate that will leave people wondering how you did it without paying $$ for it.

I did a turquoise base with a silver tip and put a small white heart on my ring finger. This look is really simple to recreate and uses basic tools. Here is a picture of my nails.

I used Sally Hansen's " Barracuda" and the Silver and White from Kiss's paint and stencil kit. Once my base coat dried, I used a dotting tool to make the heart, and used the Silver Striper to paint the tips. It was all very easy, but the tips did require a steady hand.

What do you guys think? Will you try and recreate this look? If you do, tag it #poshpolishblog on Instagram so I can see it!

Preventing Bubbles in your Polish

Picture this, you spend 30 minutes on a manicure, and then you notice that the polish has tiny little air bubbles. How did they get there? How do you prevent them from appearing and ruining your manicure?

I have had this happen to me so many times it is hard to keep track. So today I am going to talk about 4 tips for preventing pesky air bubbles. Let's begin!

1. Don't Shake Your Nail Polish! This is the most common cause of air bubbles! Instead try gently rolling the bottle on the table or in your hands. If you have to shake the polish, shake it and let it sit for 10 minutes.

2. Allow The Polish To Dry In Between Coats! This is another big cause of bubbles. You need to make sure that each coat is completely dry before adding a new one. This prevents air from the first coat from rising and creating air bubbles in the next coat.

3. Paint A Couple Thin Coats Instead Of One Thick Coat! Thin coats let the polish dry quicker and prevent you from painting over a still wet coat. Tip 2 explains what happens when painting over a still wet coat.

4. If Your Top Coat Is 3-Free, Make Sure Your Main Polish Is Too! 3-Free polishes dry faster than those that aren't 3-Free. If only your top coat is 3-Free, then it will dry faster than the polish underneath, which creates air bubbles!

Animal Print

Whether it is cheetah print shoes or a cheetah print shirt, animal print is in. For today's manicure I decided on following this trend and trying a mixed animal print. I alternated between zebra print and cheetah print.

I used Sally Hansen's " Grape Race" and Orly's " Liquid Vinyl". And for the top coat I used Sally Hansen's " Double Duty. What do you guys think? Are you going to let your animal out?

Glitter Gradient

Hi guys! So I have been seeing a lot of gradients recently and thought to myself, why not try doing one for yourself? So I did! I tried it with a peach base and a silver glitter gradient.
For this look I used Sally Hansen's "Peach of Cake" and Essie's "Carnival". For the gradient I used a makeup sponge. Here is a tip for using sponge, make sure that you soak the sponge in water prior to using it with your polish. This way the sponge can't soak up the polish! And for the top coat I used Sally Hansen's "Double Duty".

Comment what you think! Are you going to give it a try?

Great Fall Color - Orly's Pink Chocolate

Fall is here. Pumpkins are in stores, days are getting cooler, and summer nail polishes are on clearance. If your like me, you're grabbing up those polishes and stashing them away for next spring. But what do you wear in the mean time?

Well guys, it is time to break out the darker colors! Reds, browns, and other warm colors are great for fall. What colors do I recommend? Orly has a great collection of fall polishes. I am currently wearing "Pink Chocolate" pictured below. And on my ring finger I placed polka dots of Orly's "Vixen". I topped it with, you guessed it, Sally Hansen Double Duty!

What do you think? What is your go to fall color? I would love to hear from you so comment below!

Sheer Polish

When I first saw the word sheer on a polish I bought, my heart dropped a little. I mean, who wants a polish that is sheer, which means more coats? But then I thought, why not pair it with a glitter polish, and try for a subtle glitter nail?

So I grabbed my sheer polish "Sheer Bliss" by Sally Hansen, and my glitter polish "Carnival" by Essie. First I put three thin coats of "Sheer Bliss", followed by one coat of "Carnival". For this nail look I decided against a top coat purely because I wanted it to be a subtle look, and the only top coat I have makes the polish super shiny. What do you think? Since I only used one coat of the glitter polish, it has just a little "bling". If you want more you can use two coats.
